Talk Overview
Beyond the Surface: Exploring Hormonal Connections in Aesthetic Medicine
At the BCAM Annual Conference, Dr. Liz McCulloch will present "Beyond the Surface: Exploring Hormonal Connections in Aesthetic Medicine". She highlights the clinical relevance of hormonal fluctuations on wellbeing and aesthetic outcomes and makes the case for a more integrative model of care within aesthetic practice. Drawing on her expertise in menopause and hormone health, she explores how hormonal changes across a woman’s life influence skin quality and facial ageing. The presentation also examines the skin as an endocrine organ — not just a passive target, but an active player in hormone signalling. Dr. McCulloch challenges aesthetic practitioners to reconsider standard treatment recommendations in light of hormonal context, encouraging a more holistic, individualised approach to patient care.
